Waters - Got To My Head

This morning I stumbled across this budding San Francisco-based band called Waters and I think they're new track, Got To My Head is sure to be a staple in all my summertime playlists from here on out.

This up and coming band only has a couple singles out across all their various media sites, but Got To My Head, in my opinion, is their best track to date. It reminds me a lot of Grouplove's summer vibe with the crunchy guitars and unrefined yet passionate high-octave vocals. All in all this is a solid start for Waters and I can't wait to hear more from this new band as we enter the second half of 2014.

Make sure you follow them on Facebook to see if they have any shows in your area this summer!

LP - Forever For Now

I have been a fan of LP for some time now. Her song Into The Wild has been released for two years, but her debut album, Forever For Now, just came out and I feel that I have to share it with you. This little lady's voice packs one hell of a punch.

I had the opportunity to see LP perform live back in February, and she blew me away. She stole the show, and she was the opening act! I have been eagerly awaiting this album since that show. Now I can show all my favorit songs of hers to you all!

The first song that I wanted to share after hearing it live is Levitator. This song really resonated with me when she sang it. Everything from her vocal inflections to the invigorating music gave me tingles down my back after that initial live experience. I included this live recording so you can see how great her voice really is, even in a live setting.

The next song I want to highlight is Someday. This song is another great example of how talented LP is. It has a similar feel to Levitator with the uplifting music and vocals, but is slightly less powerful. Either way though, I still wanted to give you an idea what its like to see her live, so here is a live video of them performing this song.

There are a few more songs I would love to share with you from this album, like Free To Love or Night Like This, but for those you will have to listen to them on the Audible Twilight Spotify Playlist! Also, make sure you follow her on Facebook to catch her on tour the next time she comes to your town!

Coasts - Oceans EP

If I had to pick one band that is the closest to the heart of Audible Twilight, I would say it has to be Coasts. I have been showing my support for these boys since the beginning and every time they release new music, I HAVE to share it with you all. They recently released their Oceans EP that has 3 previously unreleased tracks on it! So let's get down to it, shall we?

If you saw our very first post about Coasts, then you already know and love the title track, Oceans. I am still not tired of this song, even after over a year of having it playing through my speakers. However, the reason I am stoked on this EP is because it has been a while since I have had any new material to sink my teeth into from these guys. Now I have some new songs to play on repeat for the next few weeks!

The first new track, Tonight, is an uplifting song about feeling alive with that someone special. It brings a summery, nostalgic vibe that can bring tingles down your spine and force a smile on your face as you reminisce on some of the best times you've had over the years. Check it out below and brighten your day!

The next new track is called Golden City. I really love the drum beat in this track. It makes me move. It also is an ode to their home base of London and states that no matter how far their music takes them, they will never forget their roots. Check it out below.

The last new track is See How. This track is the sentimental piece of the EP about heartbreak and recovering from that loss. I love the way the track builds as it goes, and then finishes softly, just as it started. Check this one out below!

Make sure you show these boys some love on Facebook if you haven't already. Also, the whole EP will be posted for your listening pleasure on the Audible Twilight Spotify Playlist!

Pixel Fix - Lungs

Back when I first started Audible Twilight I stumbled across a band called Pixel Fix and shared them with you all. Well, today they have released some new material,in the form of a single called Lungs.

This new single is a solid follow up to their Fall EP which came out earlier this year. The boys have already established their own unique sound and style, but with every release it becomes more defined and polished. It is nice to see a band doing something a little bit differently. I love the ambient/electronic elements they incorporate into their music. In today's over-saturated music industry, blending genres together has become one of the best ways to craft your own totally unique sound.

Make sure you follow them on Facebook if you like what you hear to stay up to date on any new releases!

Adrian Lux - Make Out (EP)

Adrian Lux has been consistently pumping out solid house tracks for years. This year, he continues his streak of awesome releases with his 7-track Make Out EP.

The EP begins with a nice, chill house track featuring some beautiful vocals from Lune. This track is great because you can listen to it in a relaxing setting or a party setting. Whether you're lounging by the pool and raging by the pool, Adrian Lux has your back. Check out The Rain below.

Next is Sooner Or Later featuring some smooth vocals from Kaelyn Behr. This track is more of a deep house track. Adrian Lux is a master of all genres of house, from the powerfully progressive to deepest of the deep, he knows how to make you move. I love everything about this track. Check it out below!

The other track I wanted to highlight from this EP is Damaged. This song closes out the EP in the perfect way. It has more intensity than most of the other tracks, and it is always nice to go out with a bang. I could see this track getting some pretty epic remix treatments as well. Fingers crossed for that! For now enjoy his original version below.

Check out the rest of the EP on the Audible Twilight Spotify Playlist!

Panama Wedding - Parallel Play (EP)

After weeks of anticipation, Panama Wedding's first EP is finally out! After seeing them open up for Dan Croll on his nationwide tour last month, I could not wait to get my hands on more music from this Brooklyn-based band.

The EP opens up with their lead single that has been out for quite a while now. All Of The People is sure to be a summer jam for all of you that may have not heard it before. It shows their upbeat disposition that is a common theme across all of their music. Check it out below!

The next track off the EP, called Uma, is a little slower, but still retains that great vibe that you heard in All Of The People. This song has more of an island-y sound. This is when I start to envision them going on tour with Vampire Weekend and it being one incredible concert. Both hail from the big apple, both with similar styles... Just sayin!

My new favorite track from Parallel Play is Fells Like Summer. The name says it all. This is the song that stood out to me the most when I saw them perform live. If you don't want to feel like it's summer time quite yet... I emplore you to stay away from this song! You have been warned..

To hear the other two tracks, Trust and Feels Like Summer, check them out on the Audible Twilight Spotify Playlist! Also, follow the band on Facebook to catch them in a city near you.

SPEAK

Finding SPEAK this morning was a great way to start my weekend! Their 'art rock' is the perfect music for a relaxing weekend, which is exactly what I plan on having!

After discovering the band, I saw that they have a feature on RAC's Strangers album that came out earlier this year. Any artist that has RAC's stamp of approval is cool with me! After checking out their SoundCloud it seems they are gearing up to release some more music soon. Their latest single, Gates, will give you a solid first impression. Check it out below!

The next song of theirs that you need to hear is called Be Reasonable, Diane. It's a good song to use to gear up for a beautiful summer day. Crack your first beer and hit play on this track below!

Make sure you follow them on Facebook, as there will def be more music coming out from Speak this summer.

100's - IVRY

Today I stumbled upon an up and coming rapper from Berkeley, CA that is single-handedly pumping funk back into west coast hip-hop. He follows along the path that OutKast blazed in the 90's and picks up where they left off by putting a fresh spin on an old school sound. Let me be the first to introduce to you 100s and his latest release, called IVRY.

This mixtape is so good because of the way 100s can switch between his soul/funk vibe and making some harder rap songs that make you wanna say "uhhhhhhh!" It is nice to have that variety, especially when he is able to do both ends of the spectrum so well. For example, the first song off the tape, Inglish Outro, goes hard. It is a solid statement song that lets you know that he isn't here to fuck around. 100s means business.

On the flip side, there are tracks like Fuckin Around that channel the likes of OutKast mixed with old school Mac Dre. The funky beat and the vocal layering in the chorus make this an ultimate throwback tune. I feel like I'm cruising around The City (my Bay Area natives know what I mean) in my scraper straight mackin! Get right to Fuckin Around below.

Another amazing track from IVRY is Slide On Ya. This is the lead single off of the release, and rightfully so. The beat is impeccable, the verses from 100s are smooth and the chorus ties the whole thing together in a cool way that is slightly reminiscent of Kendrick Lamar. Check out Slide On Ya below.

The last song that is definitely worth mentioning is the fan favorite, Ten Freaky Hoes. This track is like 90's anthem Mambo No. 5 if it were written by Too $hort. It is a list of descriptions depicting some of his sexual encounters with various women. Needless to say, it is an entertaining listen. Check it out for yourself below.

If I could post every song from this release, I would. They are all excellent. The best part: it is up for free download! Make sure you follow him on Twitter and Facebook to stay up to date with all of his music.

Cazzette - Sleepless

Today I heard for the first time the latest and greatest from the Swedish DJ duo that Avicii and his manager brought to light a few years ago known as Cazzette. Since their last album came out we haven't heard much from these still relatively fresh faces. Now they are back with an all new sound for their latest single Sleepless.

Cazzette was typically known for their high energy electro house with occasional flashes of some dirty dubstep breakdowns, especially with their plethora of remixes released on their SoundCloud back in 2012. For 2014 they have shifted with the times, and incorporated some deep house elements as this genre begins to gain some massive traction throughout the US dance music community. This new track reinforces the belief that artists should experiment with new sounds and try new things. Us as fans love when artists deviate from the norm. It reminds me of when Dillon Francis put out Without You. Much to the fans surprise, although the song strayed drastically from his previous music, it became one of his most universally loved songs to date.

The first thing that stands out about Sleepless are the vocals, courtesy of The High. They set the mood of the song and put you in the right frame of mind to truly enjoy the funky beats. All in all, Cazzette knocked this one out of the park. I hope to hear more music like this from them in the future. Check out Sleepless below!

Zhu - Faded

Today I want to post about a very interesting new find. There seems to be little publicly available information about who and what Zhu is. He apparently lives in California and makes really cool vocal deep house music. However, since he (or she) believes "music is faceless," I guess we should let the music do the talking!

I was not quite sure how I wanted to describe Zhu's music upon my first listen. It is definitely deep house, but the fluidity and cohesiveness of the EP is not something you see very often from a deep house artist, or any electronic music artist in general. It does help that the same vocalist is on every track, though. Regardless of classification or genre, I really dig Zhu's vibes and am excited to see what the future has in store for this emerging artist.

Now.. to the music. Here is the first song I heard from Zhu. It immediately caught my attention. The dark bass line and melody paired with the soft vocals make this track hauntingly seductive. Believe me when I say that you wont be able to stop hitting the play button for weeks. Check out Faded below!

Beyond Faded, it is really hard to choose which songs to feature on this post. The EP as a whole is fantastic. I have been listening to it continuously for days now. Therefore, I am thinking I should leave you with a sweet taste in your mouth from hearing Faded for the first time as I show you the way to more of their music and let you take the helm on this musical journey. The rest of Zhu's music can be found on the Audible Twilight Spotify Playlist as well as on SoundCloud. Where you go from here is entirely up to you. Just know that you won't be disappointed no matter what you choose.

WE ARE TWIN

Now that it's beginning to heat up, I am starting to dig that summertime indie-rock vibe again. After laying dormant for the past few months, I am so glad to welcome it back into my life, along with the 90 degree San Diego weather. Leading this sunny resurgence this Spring is WE ARE TWIN.

The female lead vocal has been another big theme lately, and for this style of music I think it couldn't be a better fit. Her sometimes sexual, sometimes affectionate lyrics are always fun and I could see her vocals soaring in an outdoor festival setting. Their song The Way We Touch has been on repeat on my Spotify for about a week now and I still cannot get enough. If you have ever loved/lusted after someone completely irresistible, this song is for you. It instantly puts me in a better mood. Check it out below!

I also really dig their track Keep On Lovin' You. This song falls into a similar vein as the The Way We Touch. I love the way her voice gets that little soulful edge to it in the chorus which adds some grit to the track. Also, the effects on her vocals make it seem like you are hearing the song playing from an old school radio which brings that cool vintage sound to the track. Check out Keep On Lovin' You below!

Check out the rest of their EP on Spotify and 'Like' them on Facebook to see when they are coming to your city!

Dream Koala - Earth. Home. Destroyed

The past 12 months have been quite favorable for this young talent. His unique blending of his live singing and guitar mixed with electronic beats has been taking the global ambient scene by storm. Today Dream Koala is back with his new 5-track EP called Earth. Home Destroyed.

Watching the progression in his production and overall song quality has been really cool over the past year or so. These 5 songs are his best work to date. I feel like I can turn on his music, turn off my mind and just ride the musical sound waves to a better place. I especially like the song Gold for doing just that. I love the way the track amps up with the beating drums towards the end which keeps me as a listener captivated to the last second.

Earth is another great track from the EP. It is one of the most energetic songs I have heard from Dream Koala. I really like it because of that. All of his music seems to blend together if you play it all back to back, but this one would stand out to any fan of his as having more life than the rest.

The last song I really enjoy is A Cosmic Landscape. There are no vocals, but I love when a song can take your mind to another place without any use of imagery or descriptions in the lyrics and it relies solely on the sounds and whatever emotions or experiences they trigger in your brain. That is true ambient music.

If you like the EP, buy it on his Bandcamp or on iTunes! Throw him a 'Like' on Facebook too while you're at it.

Dan Croll - Hello My Baby (Feat. Ladysmith Black Mambazo)

Record Store Day is one of my favorite days of the year. Vinyl will never die, thanks to amazing artists like Dan Croll releasing new music in honor that glorious day. In celebration of RSD, he teamed up with Ladysmith Black Mambazo to revamp their tune Hello My Baby, and this new version soars to new heights. His added instrumentation and vocals complement the choir vocals from the original track so well. This track is so undeniably happy that I dare you to wear a frown for all of it's four minutes and twenty nine seconds.

Do it... come on...

That's what I thought.

Tourist - Patterns EP

Tourist has been slowly making a name for himself in today's saturated electronic music world. He has been able to craft a sound that is all his own, and his new Patterns EP shows off all of his producing talent.

In today's EDM genre spectrum, I would say Tourist falls into mostly into the downtempo category. His music is always relaxed and simple. Whether it be finding the perfect samples or enlisting the help of some interesting vocalists, he knows how to create interesting and beautiful songs. My favorite track off the album is called I Can't Keep Up, which features Will Heard on vocals. Will's contribution to the song makes it. It is the perfect song to listen too to bring yourself back to your center after a long, stressful day. Check it out below.

The other song that I really enjoyed from this EP is called Together. I'm not sure whether its the sample saying "we should be together" or the groovy beat, or the perfect combination of both that make this song stand out to me. I love how simple the track is throughout, although it still demands my full attention all the way through. That is how you know you are doing something right as a producer. Check it out below!

Make sure you check out the rest of his EP on Spotify!

Alex Metric - Hope EP

I have always thought it is such a shame that Alex Metric doesn't get more attention. He has been in the game much longer than most of the DJ stars of today. Despite his relative obscurity, this new EP has 3 awesome tracks that you have to hear!

I love his weird, housey/electro sound. Each song is unique and fun, but the three songs also all fit together to form a nice package of music. His collaboration with Oliver on both Hope and Galaxy is a match made in heaven. Get down to all of the funky sounds the Hope EP has to offer below and get the party started!

Lana Del Rey - West Coast

I am very pleased to announce that this week gives us the release of a brand new, original Lana Del Rey song! I saw her perform West Coast at Coachella last weekend, and hearing it again is bringing back some serious flashbacks and nostalgia.

West Coast has the same melancholic Lana Del Rey sound that we have come to adore her for. In this song Lana paints a dark picture about living the Hollywood lifestyle and how our starry eyes obsess over fame. Also, it is only fitting that the lackadaisical music channels that laid back Californian way of life. The drums seem to always be hitting at the last possible second and the guitar dribbles along as the song unfolds without any adding any life to the track. All in all, I think this song is a solid showing of what her new album, Ultraviolence, will have in store for us later this year. Fall in love with Lana all over again as you listen to West Coast below!

Vacationer - The Wild Life

FINALLY! Vacationer is back on the scene with a new tune! This music industry veteran can always be counted on to crank out fresh sounds, and The Wild Life is no exception.

Vacationer was started by the multi-talented Kenny Vasoli, previously of Person L and The Starting Line. Vacationer marks Kenny's third successful band, which is impressive in itself! His last album, Gone, was excellent and definitely set the bar high for what was to come. After hearing this first single ff the new record, I can safely say that this new record will be even better than the first! I can't wait to hear the whole thing, but for now, enjoy the happy sounds of The Wild Life.

Bleachers - I Wanna Get Better

This morning I randomly checked out a new song called I Wanna Get Better by a just as new band called Bleachers. After a couple listens to the single, I felt compelled to shed some light on this interesting artist.

Bleachers began as kind of a secret side project of Jack Antonoff while he was on the road touring with his current band, Fun. He made music in private for months and didn't tell anyone but a select few family members. Now.. here it is, on the internet! I Wanna Get Better is the first song released by Bleachers and it has been out for just over a month now. I love how erratic the song seems at first, but then you get past the initial shock and the song becomes kind of endearing. Check out I Wanna Get Better below!

This song is really different, and I am excited to see what comes next from Bleachers. It should be a fun ride!

Galantis - Friend (Hard Times)

Galantis has just released yet another new song off their up coming EP! So far none of the other tracks they have released are as amazing as Smile or You, but hey.. you can't be perfect all the time! The EP as a whole is a still a strong showing of what Galantis has to offer and proves that they are a musical force to be reckoned with. Can't wait to see their live show in a couple weeks! For now, listen and enjoy! <3

Coachella Spotlight #20: Duke Dumont

When the Coachella Line Up first came out I wasn't really aware of who Duke Dumont was. I fiigured he was just another name that I will probably skip over and not think twice about. Then it happened..

Duke Dumont finally jumped on my radar just over a month ago and his name instantly went from 'don't care' to 'don't miss!' His song I Got U featuring Jax Jones is awesome. It has been one of my go too mood lifters ever since I heard it for the first time. The simple piano chords and the sincere vocals make this one hell of a feel good track that I am sure you will hear more as the summer approaches. Check it out below if you aren't familiar!

Upon hearing I Got U, I had to see what else I could find by this seemingly new producer. I quickly learned he isn't a new producer; this british DJ has been perfecting his production skills over the past 3 or 4 years. My next favorite track of his is called Hold On featuring MNEK. It is a really nice deep house track that has a little bit more of an emotional vibe to it thanks to the awesome vocals. Check it out below.

Lastly I want to highlight one of his remixes that I just realized has been on my playlist rotation for months now. I never made this connection until now, but his remix of HAIM's Falling is fantastic. So many new DJ's, so little time! I love the way he keeps the vocals intact and just creates a great melody that elevates the tracks feeling to a whole new level of positivity. HAIM's original is great, but this remix takes the cake. Check it out below!

I can't wait to see what kind of set Duke Dumont lays down in the Sahara Tent in a couple weeks! See you there!

Happy Coachella! <3

Wunder Wunder

Today I wound up listening to this Australian transplant production duo and I heard some serious potential in their music. Let me be the first to introduce to you Wunder Wunder!

When I say "let me be the first" I was referencing the fact that they have only had music up on their SoundCloud page for four months, and their second track was only uploaded less than a week ago. They are rough around the dges, but I dig the garage sound that their music has despite it being electronic. I find groups that have that crossover, genre-blending sound really intriguing. When done right, some really cool music can be created.

Their single Coastline just came out in preparation for their upcoming show in LA this week. It definitely feels very California. From the song's title to the sunny guitar licks and soft snare drums, this song takes me straight to the beach on a beautiful weekend. Check it out below.

The first song they ever posted is called Sure Stuck. It is much more indie rock sounding, but still has that beachy vibe with the undulating flanger effect during the chorus' and the consistent guitar and drum beat from start to finish. The first song puts me on the beach, but this song puts that drink in my hand and takes my mind off any lingering mid-week stress. Chill out to Sure Stuck below.

If you dig the music, help them raise their 'Like' count up on their Facebook! They deserve it.

Figgy - Do It Like Us

Figgy has been consistently flipping both and old and new R&B/Hip Hop tracks for over a year now and this track is no exception. This time he samples R.Kelly over a smooth, danceable house beat. It's nice to see his sound jump between chill house and soft trap now and then. Both genre's are buzzing right now, so he is poised to make a name for himself if he keeps churning out quality tracks like Do It Like Us. Check it out below!

Galantis - The Heart That I'm Hearing

Yet another song off of Galantis' debut EP has surfaced! I cannot wait for the EP to be released or to see their very first live performance ever at Coachella 2014 weekend one! Galantis is about to take the dance world by storm. The EP comes out on April 1st, so until then you can listen to this new track, or the rest of the ones they have published on their SoundCloud!

Don't sleep on this badass duo. You'll regret it!

Tune-Yards - Water Fountain

Today I came across this interesting new song by the Tune-Yards and I figured I would see if anyone else would be interested in checking it out.

Water Fountain is the lead single off of Tune-Yards third album callled Nikki Nack, due out May 6th. This song is full of exuberant life. The tribal-esque beat and the way she sings on the track is both strangely catchy and intriguing. The chorus makes me picture a group of Native Americans dancing around a fire praying for rain, all chanting "Woo-Ha, Woo-Ha!" Most people might brush off a song like this after first listen due to it's third world rhythms and non-commercial sound, but I love hearing music like this. It makes me wonder what would inspire someone to make a song such as this one. Either way, I dig it, so you should check it out below!

Check out the song on the Audible Twilight Spotify Playlist as well! Make sure to Like Tune-Yards on Facebook while you're at it.

MØ - No Mythologies To Follow (LP)

burst onto the scene last year with the help of Diplo and his label Mad Decent, and has since been fast tracked into the limelight. Today marks the release of her debut album, No Mythologies To Follow, and it has the blogosphere all atwitter.

MØ is a Danish singer/songwriter that has been working her way into our headphones since 2012. She released a slew of singles that gained her solid traction in the Netherlands, including Maiden, Glass and Pilgrim. Her work on those tracks then garnered her some international attention, most notably from Ash Pournouri, Avicii's famous manager. Fun fact: MØ is actually the vocalist on Dear Boy which was featured on Avicii's 2013 album, True. After that fortunate feature, Diplo teamed up with her to release XXX 88, which is the lead single off of NMTF. Check out the video for the single below.

Now I will move on to the songs that peaked my interest the most off the album. First there was Slow Love. It had the kind of beat that has been tickling my fancy lately. The slower tempo house beat and the reverb soaked vocals pair perfectly together for this laid back jam. Check it out below.

I also really liked her song Dummy Head. I like the minimal beat and the use of guitar. This album has such an awesome range of beats used, and MØ knocks the vocals out of the park on each track. Groove to Dummy Head below.

The last track I want to cover is the one that I think lets her vocals shine the most. When she sings on Dust Is Gone, the beat takes the back seat for most of the track so her voice takes center stage. I love the lyrics and her delivery is captivating. Check out the softer side of MØ on Dust Is Gone below.

Check out the rest of the album on Spotify, as their are 12 other solid tracks that you haven't heard yet!

Skrillex - Recess (LP)

This week marks the first official full-length album release from one of EDM's most consistently intriguing artists. Skrillex has been changing and morphing his sound ever since his debut with Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites back in 2010. Recess seems to be the culmination of all the experimentation Sonny has been doing with his music over the past few years.

My initial thoughts on the album were that he seemed to be trying a little too hard to make this album avoid any kind of commercial sound. However, upon further listening, I believe this album is just Skrillex being Skrillex. It is very clear that he refuses to be pigeon-holed into one genre of music. Recess covers all the bases from bro-step to deep house, and does so with a strange continuity that only he could pull off. The first track, All Is Fair in Love and Brostep, is Skrillex's tip of the hat to all of his older dubstep fans that were hoping for an album full of dirty beats and gnarly drops. He couldn't leave them hanging. However, the title-track, Recess, is much more of the kind of stuff I was looking for out of this album. It's a solid moombahton track that is sure to get your blood flowing faster and faster with every decible louder it is played. Check it out below.

Another track I want to highlight is called Fuck That. This is definitely the most interesting track on the album to me. I call it deep-step, as it sounds like dubstep and deep house had relations out of wedlock and chose not to abort their illegitimate child. Skrillex uses the signature bass wobbles you can find in most deep house tracks, but does it over a mellow dubstep style beat. I really like the way it all came together though. Check it out below.

The last song I wanted to shed light on is the drum and bass inspired Coast Is Clear, featuring Chance The Rapper. I love that Skrillex reached out to this rising rap star and got him on a track. I love everything Chance does, so I knew this collaboration was bound to be amazing. It isn't a very ragey song, but thats why I love Skrillex. His music has no boundaries or limits. To him, all music fits under one roof, and everything is fair game. Check out this collab below and "dance like it hurts to stand still."

Other notable tracks on the album include: Stranger, Fire Away, Ease My Mind and the certified banger with my boy Alvin Risk, Try it Out.

The album is for sale on iTunes or Amazon and can also be heard on Spotify! Make sure you catch Skrillex and his various DJ cronies on his Mothership 2014 tour, coming to a city near you very soon.

Tycho - Awake (LP)

March 17th was a great day. Yesterday morning I received my vinyl pre-order of Tycho's sophomoric full-length release, Awake, in the mail and was able to spend my evening listening to the album with no distractions in it's entirety. Tycho's music requires peace and quiet so your mind can wander down the path that is drawn with each musical note.

Tycho began as a one man show. All the music was produced electronically by Scott Hansen. This album marks the first time Scott has been able to record all of his music with a live band. As he toured more and more over the past year or so with his live band, he realized that Tycho should be recorded live as a collaborative effort, not created alone on a computer screen. This significant shift in Scott's artistic vision makes this album really special. It marks one of the very few times, if not the only time, that an artist has gone from EDM to something else. These days you see every band/artist jumping on the EDM bandwagon. Tycho is swimming upstream in a crowded river of trend-chasing musicians, and I find it extremely refreshing.

Now to the matter at hand: the music. Every song is it's own little masterpiece. With each track you can let yourself go for a journey over tranquil ambient soundscapes of ethereal guitar riffs and hypnotizing synths that will take your mind away from reality just for a few fleeting moments; which, to me, is what music is all about. The title track to the album really sets the tone and vibe of the album right off the bat. It also shows right away the progression the band has made from their old music. Get a feel for the new and improved Tycho by listening to Awake below.

One song off the album that I really enjoy is called See. I love driving beat, as it makes this song one of the more uptempo songs on the album. It marks the turning point between the more mellow, ambient first half of the album and the more indie rock inspired second half of the album. I am sure this song would also translate really well in a live setting. Check it out for yourself below.

If you are more into the ambient side of the album, check out Dye. I love the use of the acoustic guitar in the intro and the down section in the middle of the track, which you don't hear on any other songs. It also has more of a drum and bass feel to it at some points, which is a nice change up as well. Check in and check out to Dye below.

I don't throw around 5-star ratings like it's nothing, because when I say I give an album 5-stars I want it to mean something. That being said, I would definitely give this album all five stars. Not only is it something new and different for me, but it was for the band as well. To see them come out with this totally new direction and nail it so perfectly is really amazing. My hat is off to Tycho on this one.

Please support the band by Liking them on Facebook. You can also purchase the album on their websiteAmazon or iTunes as well as stream it on Spotify.

Say Lou Lou

These two sisters have been making their way into various playlists of mine for almost a year now, yet I have yet to connect all the dots together and realize how great they actually are, until now. I figured I would round up all of their best songs and shed some light on some talented new artists. Say hello to Say Lou Lou!

The first time I ever saw the name Say Lou Lou was from a track by one of my favorite producers, Goldroom. He featured the singers on his single Sweetness Alive and they absolutely nailed it. From there they have begun to release their own original songs and have been doing an excellent job. The first track they released is called Maybe You. It begins with minimal percussion as they sing over sounds resembling a peaceful ocean break. I do enjoy the original, but the remixes are where the real treasures lie. It is hard to choose a favorite, as their are three different ones that I really liked, but would use in different situations. The most fun remix is Good Night Keaton's version. I love the island vibes with the congos and tropical synths. Check out this remix below!

The other remixes I really like are by CFCF or Pyramid. Definitely check those out on Spotify as well!

Next they released their track Julian. I have had a remix of this on one of my playlists for some time now, but I am beginning to feel the original a little bit more since the remix is a bit overplayed for me now. The original is more mellow and captures a different emotion than the remix does. I love the lyrics, as they depict two lovers escaping their lives together by getting out of the country. Check out the video for Julian below!

Lastly, I wanted to highlight their track Better In The Dark. I love how the track all comes together so well. Everything works. This song really shows the talent these two girls have. Check it out below.

Moullinex - Flora

Just because I am two years late on finding this album does not mean it isn't post-worthy! This album seems like it was slightly ahead of its time, which makes it that much more intriguing. That's one of the coolest parts about diving into a new genre; finding out that awesome music like this was being made before you even knew it existed! Check out Flora, the debut album from German producer and musician, Moullinex!

New wave disco-house seems to be coming up in a big way lately, and Moullinex seems to have been on that train before most of the artists releasing music today were. His music is very light hearted and I could see the live band performance they do while on the road being very fun.

The first time I heard the name Moullinex was through a remix of one of his songs by Gigamesh. Gigamesh remixed Take My Pain Away into an amped up nu-disco track by adding guitar riffs and a bigger bass line throughout. Check out the remix below.

Upon hearing his album for the first time there was one track that jumped out at me instantly. Moullinex nails it on Darkest Night. The vocals from Iwona Skwarek complement the track perfectly as the beat slinks along in the background. The overall vibe of the song is what gabbed me. I like everything about it. Check it out for yourself below!

The other track that I really liked from the album was Tear Club. I love the more islandy, tropical sounds and washed out vocals. It puts me in a beach front day club somewhere in the Mediterranean. The flute sealed the deal for me. Take your mind somewhere far away and check out Tear Club below.

RAC - Strangers Part 1

I have been waiting for RAC to finally come out with Strangers Part 1 for a long time now, and it is even better than I could have hoped!

RAC has managed to craft his own unique sound and style that sets him a part from your typical electronic music producer. All of his tracks feel like house music, but sound like they are made using only live instruments. Also, not only are his productions on point, but so are his features. He brings along some amazing friends on his tracks, like Alex Ebert (from Edward Shapre & the Magnetic Zeros), Tegan and Sara, Penguin Prison, Tokyo Police Club, Body Language, MNDR and Kele.

Strangers Part 1 carries over three tracks from his previous EP, including: Let Go, Hollywood and Tourist. Let Go is amazing. I have had that on all my playlists for months. If you need a refresher, check it out below!

My favorite new song from the album is definitely Tear You Down which features Alex Ebert. I love Alex's voice, and the fact that RAC was able to get him on a track makes me love RAC that much more! Such a feel good tune.

The other track that peaked my interest is actually the one track most people might skip over, as it serves more as an interlude than a song. Cells shows how much RAC has progressed in his production ability and it adds that different element to the album that helps make Strangers Part 1 more unique and interesting.

Check out the entire album on the Audible Twilight Spotify Playlist!

Popeska - Heart of Glass (LNDN Remix)

A remix usually has to get me pretty excited to get it's own dedicated post. However, this track has met my requirements, and then some! Also, this is the first track ever uploaded to SoundCloud by LNDN, which makes this remix that much more impressive.

LNDN has taken Popeska's track Heart of Glass and de-ragified it. (Yeah, I just made that word up.) He turned it into a really groovy house track with a nice piano melody and some hi-hats replacing the massive progressive synths and blasting snares of the original. I love this more relaxed rendition. It just feels right! Check out this excellent debut track from a talented producer who is sure to do some great things in the future!

Follow LNDN on Facebook now! He has less than 100 followers, and that is not ok..

Wildcat! Wildcat!

I would bet, upon seeing their band name, that you would not guess that Wildcat! Wildcat! sound the way they do. They have an interesting depth to their indie/electronic sound that grabbed me after hearing their EP for the first time. Try something new today and check out Wildcat! Wildcat! with me.

This 3-piece band has been able to craft their own unique sound in a world where every band kind of sounds the same. That is always an accomplishment in itself. Then these guys just happen to be really great on top of that! Their 4-track, self-titled EP that came out last year was their first release, which makes me very excited to see what they come out with this year! The first track I heard by these guys was Garden Grays. I loved the laid back, 'going for a stroll' vibe this song has. It can slap a smile on your face as you walk around town pondering life (which I know so many of you do!) Check it out below and don't stop walking until it's over.

The other song from the EP I am all about is called Mr. Quiche. I love the piano and organ intro that leads into a chilled out indie/electro beat. This song is very much on the same wavelength as the rest of the EP as well, which shows their consistency as a band and that they know what they are trying to do. Check out Mr. Quiche below!

Now let's check out one of their remixes. I love when bands dabble in producton as well and make remixes of other peoples music. This is becoming more and more common with the fusion of indie rock and electronic music. They took Haerts' lead single, Wings and pumped some life into a laid back indie rock song. Check it out below.

Elektrik People - The Lost Get Loud

I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with a couple of the members of Elektrik People on multiple tours back in the day and I am really excited about this new direction they have taken their music. Their debut EP came out today and I am very pleased with the way it turned out.

The members of Elektrik People used to play in an indie rock band called War Stories. They were the first band I ever got to work with in my days of being an intern while in school. After the members of War Stories parted ways, some of the band regrouped and formed this more electronically influenced band. They were able to breathe new life into their music by simplifying their line-up and switching up their sound. The lead single off of The Lost Get Loud, called I Love My Life, had me hooked instantly. Also, as it turns out, I wasn't the only one! It was good enough to get a stamp of approval from the one and only Katy Perry on her Facebook page! Check it out below.

After hearing I Love My Life I couldn't help but get stoked to hear what they came up with next. Upon listening to their EP for the first time, the title track really stood out to me. Evan's vocals really shine on this one and I also love the 80's-esque synths in conjunction with the epic guitar during the chorus. This song has a great intensity that grabs you and doesn't let you go until it's over. Check out The Lost Get Loud below.

The last track I wanted to highlight is Painted Gold. This song definitely brings some serious sex appeal to the EP. Those massive bass lines will make you want to get to know your body a little better than you did before listening to this track. Get down with your bad self below!

Make sure to throw Elektrik People a 'Like' on Facebook while you're listening!

Melodeyes

I love how many different ways the trap genre of EDM has been explored and expanded. I feel like every month or two I experience trap in a totally new way. I think what Melodeyes is doing within that genre is really great, so I wanted shed some light on this budding producer.

His music falls on the much more chill part of the trap spectrum. He describes his music as 'melodic trap' which I think is a very accurate way to describe it. His style is less focused on the hard hitting bass that trap is associated with and more focused around beautiful melodies and sounds laid over a slower, hip hop style beat. His production quality is excellent and every song seems well thought out. Here is the first song of his that I ever heard. He remixes STRFKR's  While I'm Alive into a dreamy sea of washed out synths and rattling hi-hats and takes the track in a totally new direction. Check it out below.

He also has a couple of his own original productions. His song titled After Now shows more of his personal style, which reminds me of a mildly trapped out Teen Daze. I love the minute long intro of just a nice, soft melody that then leads into a chill beat that you can just relax and zone out to. Check it out below

Lastly, I wanted to post another amazing remix of his that I love. He put his spin on a track by Youth Lagoon, which I think is a really cool choice for him to make. He absolutely nails it. Once the guitar part kicks in, my ears enter a state of audible bliss that I find myself itching for again five minutes after the song is over. Vibe out to his remix of July below.

Galantis - You

After hearing their first single, Smile, it seemed like these guys were destined to be huge. This new single definitely reaffirms that statement, and then some! Galantis can do no wrong.

Galantis is the lovechild of Christian Karlsson of Miike Snow and Linus Eklow, aka Style Of Eye. These two experienced producers coming together can only mean one thing: excellent music! This new single, titled You, is another amazing progressive house tune with beautiful keys and vocals building into a massive euphoria of bass lines and festival-ready chords. These guys obviously have a firm grasp on their sound and production style, and are sure to become rising stars in 2014. Check out You below so you can say you loved Galantis before anyone else!

Wave Racer

The past few weeks I have been seeing this name pop up all over the place. From his remixes to his originals, his sound is consistently unique, fresh and full of so much energy. Get down to some Wave Racer with me today!

Australia has always been a little bit different in terms of the producers and the music that come out of there. They always bring new sounds to the table and keep the rest of us on our toes. Wave Racer is no exception. His take on trap music is something I have never heard before. He implements a lot of colorful, high pitch synths with heavy effects on them to make them sound like an old arcade game that just smoked crack for the first time. I love how crazy yet refined each song is. I can't stop listening to it! Now it's your turn..

Here is his most recent track called Streamers. I love the choppy synths in the chorus and the various vocal samples he toys around with. Check it out below!

To touch on some of his older material, here is one of the first two tracks he uploaded to his SoundCloud page. Stoopid definitely brings that old school video game vibe that I think is so fun. There aren't many artists who can channel this sound well enough to make it seem legit while still tapping into your video game nostalgia. Props to him on nailing this track!

Lastly, I need to show off one of his awesome remixes. I posted his Flight Facilities remix on their Coachella Spotlight post last week, so that one is off the table. That leaves the other two that I love, but I can't pick a favorite so here are both of them! First is his remix of Panama's track Always that Classixx also has an excellent remix of if you remember their Coachella Spotlight post. I love Wave Racers remix just as much as the original and the Classixx version. It has brings so much life to the track that isn't there in the other mixes.

The other remix is his version of DCUP's Don't Be Shy. I love everything about this song. The anti-climactic builds, the high pitch vocal samples sprinkled throughout and the massive drops. I don't even care what the original sounds like, because this remix is so sick. Check it out

Follow him on Facebook too! Can't wait until the first time I can see him live.

Enjoy! <3
