Say Lou Lou

These two sisters have been making their way into various playlists of mine for almost a year now, yet I have yet to connect all the dots together and realize how great they actually are, until now. I figured I would round up all of their best songs and shed some light on some talented new artists. Say hello to Say Lou Lou!

The first time I ever saw the name Say Lou Lou was from a track by one of my favorite producers, Goldroom. He featured the singers on his single Sweetness Alive and they absolutely nailed it. From there they have begun to release their own original songs and have been doing an excellent job. The first track they released is called Maybe You. It begins with minimal percussion as they sing over sounds resembling a peaceful ocean break. I do enjoy the original, but the remixes are where the real treasures lie. It is hard to choose a favorite, as their are three different ones that I really liked, but would use in different situations. The most fun remix is Good Night Keaton's version. I love the island vibes with the congos and tropical synths. Check out this remix below!

The other remixes I really like are by CFCF or Pyramid. Definitely check those out on Spotify as well!

Next they released their track Julian. I have had a remix of this on one of my playlists for some time now, but I am beginning to feel the original a little bit more since the remix is a bit overplayed for me now. The original is more mellow and captures a different emotion than the remix does. I love the lyrics, as they depict two lovers escaping their lives together by getting out of the country. Check out the video for Julian below!

Lastly, I wanted to highlight their track Better In The Dark. I love how the track all comes together so well. Everything works. This song really shows the talent these two girls have. Check it out below.

Chordashian

I am still undecided on whether I like producers names that resemble celebrity names or not.. I have seen Lindsay Lowend, Com Truise, and now.. Chordashian. They do always seem to make great music though, so I guess I can't complain! If they keep pumping out quality material, then keep the silly homages coming!

The music these two New Yorkers make is exactly the kind of music I am into right now. They have a similar sound to Goldroom; who, as you all know, is my biggest producer man crush right now. I love the chill house-y vibes all of their music has. It is perfect for a cool pool party or just waking up in the morning with a smile on. Their most popular track to date is called Skyscraper Souls featuring vocals from Freedom Fry. This track is super bouncy and upbeat and makes me want to boogie! Check it out below

Their latest track, Keep On, has more of that old school house sound, with those keys that take you straight to a 12 hour beach party in Ibiza. It is one of those songs that can keep any party going, even in it was looped for 20 minutes straight. Check it out below and grab the free download on their SoundCloud!

The last track I wanted to share with you all was a great remix of theirs. I should have figured they had a remix to this, because its so perfect. It is the first track they posted on their SoundCloud two years ago, and it's still one of my favorite Chordashian tracks. Check out their remix of Penguin Prison's Don't Fuck With My Money below!

Top 10 of 2013: Goldroom - Embrace EP

Goldroom is easily one of my biggest come ups of the year. His music opened up a whole new genre of dance music to me, and I have been obsessed ever since.

This year he released his Embrace EP as a follow up to his Angeles EP from last year. It is a definite step up in all aspects from his previous work. The production quality sky rocketed and the music became more electronic sounding, which is always fun. Although, after seeing him perform his music with a live band, it still sounds super cool with a more organic, live sound as well.

The title track from the EP is by far the stand out track. It is so catchy and the beat is perfect for that summertime pool party atmosphere. I know I bumped this every beautiful Saturday morning to get my day started and my blood pumping. Check it out below!

The other tracks from the EP that I love are Adalita, Fifteen and Only You Can Show Me which you can find on both Spotify and his SoundCloud!

What originally got me into Goldroom though were his remixes. He has SO MANY amazing remixes.. it's kind of ridiculous how good every one actually is. Let me show you a couple of my all time favorites.

All of his remixes are for free download! So grab them on his Facebook!

Thomas Jack

I stumbled onto this guys SoundCloud page this morning and saw that he listed 'Tropical House' as the genre for his tracks/remixes and instantly knew I had found something I would like. Thomas Jack is a electronic producer from Australia that relocated to Miami to pursue his music career.

His sound has that very laidback house vibe with a tropical twist that takes you straight to your happy place. I have been seriously digging this style of music this year and couldn't be more pleased with this find. If you are a fan of Goldroom or overall good vibes, check out his remix of Benjamin Francis Leftwich that has been topping the Hype Machine charts lately!

Other notable remixes of his include his versions of Teenage Crime by Adrian Lux and Little Talks by Of Monsters & Men. Check them out as well!

His remixes really show off his style, but his originals are equally as good! It seems like his originals are abit more club oriented while his remixes are more for listening pleasure, or at least for a different setting than a nightclub. The original mixes have stronger bass lines but retain the tropical-sounding melodies that Thomas Jack is known for. Here is one that stood out to me the most.

This style of house music is definitely still emerging and growing, but I am very excited to see more artists like this that will continue to progress the music and hopefully begin to steal more listeners from the big room, electro-house craze like it did to me.

Follow Thomas Jack on Faceboook and/or Twitter to stay up to date on his whereabouts. If you like this sound, DEFINITELY check out my current fave Goldroom as well! So amazing.
